Welcome to Wynken. A little history on the home's name. Originally, there were six houses here, but only three survived Hurricane Hazel in 1954. They were renamed Wynken, Blynken, and Nod after a children poem by Eugene Field. The Wooden Shoe is the ship in which they sailed the sea. Create vacation memories in this charming three bedroom home located right behind an oceanfront home. A shared creek dock is also available for your enjoyment.

There are 3-Bedrooms. There are 2 Twins, Queen with Twin and Double with Twin. There are 2 Full bathrooms.

Cute cottage but needs some work

Cute cottage and great location. Needs some updating. Two back bedroom have mold on the ceiling, which is something I wish I would’ve known as someone who is very sensitive to mold. Our first night, the walkway across in Blynken collapsed which was pretty terrifying. It’s about a 10 ft drop and the dock connects to Wynken. My kids were extremely freaked out by it, and it would’ve been nice to receive a call explaining what happened. Instead, i had to call the office and they explained it’s safe, even though much of the dock is in a similar condition and needs updating. We spoke with the people staying in Blynken and one was injured. Just very scary situation that i wish we would’ve been compensated for or at the very least a check in as we have two small children.

To clarify, the collapse involved the staircase serving one specific cottage, not the shared walkway. Our team responded promptly, secured the area, and assisted the affected guests, who fortunately did not sustain any serious injuries and were immediately relocated. The shared walkway was inspected by a structural engineer the following day and confirmed safe for continued use. Guest safety is our highest priority, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We also appreciate you bringing the maintenance items within your cottage to our attention and have shared them with our maintenance team for review.

Wynken review

We have stayed in this house many times and love coming to Pawleys. I believe the owners need to get a new sofa and new mattress for the beds in the front bedroom. See you next year.

The outdoor cat was super sweet!

I loved staying in this house. We fed and gave the cat treats everyday. Scared at first, but he warms up!

Great house

House is super cute, well stocked. Love being in the center of old Pawleys. Easy beach access, wonderful porches, best spot for the parade.

I stayed in this house several years ago, and recall there was also a shared deck on the ocean front side that was available for all in the complex. It was a small deck directly in front of the house opposite Nod. Is that deck still available?

Yes! There is a shared beach walk with three other homes. At the end by the ocean there is a deck area.
