Thompson Down

40 Years coming to Pawleys and this house was not good. You can hear everything. If our other family members were not upstairs that would have been a problem. No dishwasher, kitchen inadequate in many ways. The common area uncomfortably tight. No storage or counter space in bathrooms or kitchen. Just a bummer for the week

unfortunately, this house is awful. It is very dated and not well taken care of. There’s no dishwasher. There’s no counter space. The refrigerator is rusty all on the outside. We ate out every night. Each room has the smallest bed and all the bathrooms have no counter space or storage. The dressers that are supplied in each room are hard to open. I was very disappointed. We have a family that needed six bedrooms. There’s no connection with the upper stairs to the lower stairs- at any point getting around and hanging out together was difficult. The common space was so noisy that anyone sleeping was disturbed so you had to go outside. The upstairs outlet kept blowing we had it fixed once and eventually we got an extension cord just so we could hook up the air-conditioning unit in the middle room. I typically don’t complain and if there’s nothing nice to say, don’t say anything, but this was an important review because I chose it because of other reviews and it really needs to be taken care of..

I'm a longtime Pawleys fan and have stayed on the island in the summer since 1963. I visit in different capacities - with a large family, work friends, or a few family members. We have stayed many years in a Southend home and these past 5 years we have tried a variety of homes. The Thompson Down was all we needed for this visit. Beachfront - Creekdock - Southend. Plenty of parking for a duplex. We loved meeting the people who were above us too. It was a perfect lazy vacation - just what we needed. When we reached out for support to the office, they responded promptly. We are planning on another year at the Thompson Down.

We love coming and enjoying all things Pawleys. The check in process was easy and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Sitting on the porch watching the sunrise and enjoying our time together.

We have been coming to Pawleys every year since I was one year old (born 1954), and have loved and stayed on the south end all those years. This year we moved to the Thompson (Down) and we love it! It has what we love, beach front, front porch, front deck, creek dock, creek deck by the dock, and it is a close walk to the point. We met the owner and I don't think we have ever met a nicer person at pawleys. We are definitely staying here from now on.
