Shankri-la

Funny review from someone else on this page. We were in the same situation. We have a LARGE extended family that gathers every year for the 4th of July week for over the last 60 years here at Pawleys! My family stayed in another house next door to this one and as families married and starting having kids we needed another house and this one became available. The year we were suppose to move into it, we got a call saying they are rebuilding and so we were without a house for the one year. PIR found us the Thompson Down (oh boy - that is a whole different story) for the one year that the Shankri-la was still being built. We were also EXTREMELY shocked with the new price (went from like $2300 to $7500), but we were like lets try it for one year. WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP OUR WEEK because this place is AMAZING! We love the large underneath parking area as we can do lots of activities under there when it rains (as it always seems to rain at least one day of the week). We have been in it every year since and plan to continue our tradition. Amazing views, parking is awesome, super large porch, and every room with a full bath is awesome for our family. See you July 4th week every week!

Awesome, beautiful house on the south end! Funny story - We wanted to rent this house before it was torn down. We put our deposit down, and then we got a call saying it was going to be torn down and rebuilt and cost more. We were shocked at the new price, but understood. We still went thru with it the first summer (July 4th week) and LET ME TELL YOU - we are glad we stayed with it, even with the new price! We plan never to let it go b/c it is amazing! New, lots of space, lots of parking, and love the bed configuration and the numerous bathrooms and updated thru-out the whole house.
