I've never been to Pawleys. We've been going to Emerald Isle from Richmond VA for years. One ofthe regular couples moved to Atlanta and this looks like a good in between spot. Regarding the house, it looks like it is beside public parking/ public beach access. What do you think we could expect the first two weeks of October - crowded or really calming down? Do the windows and doors have screens - we love being able to open up if it's not too hot. What is nearby - golf, shopping, grocery, restaurants? How's the fishing? Does it have a grill? FYI - 3 couples ranging in age from 73 to 80ish.

Thank you for your inquiry! yes, this home is located next to the south public access parking lot. October is a great time of year to avoid the busy summer months if you prefer a quieter crowd. There are many local golf courses, shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. However, no commercial businesses are allowed on the 4-mile island itself. You will have to drive 2-5 minutes to the mainland. Fishing is a popular activity hear enjoyed by both guests and locals. South Carolina State Law mandates each person must have a fishing license. You can obtain a fishing license at either Pawleys Island Supplies (located in our parking lot near Ocean Hwy) or Ace Hardware. This home does not have a grill.
