What is the pet policy?
We have several homes that are pet-friendly. All pet-friendly homes are indicated in the brochure by a paw print. On our website, if a house is pet-friendly it will be reflected in the "Property Highlights" section of the specific property. NOTE: Pawleys Pier Village Condos does not allow pets on the premise at all.
What is trip insurance?
Travel Protection Insurance (Trip insurance) is designed to cover you and your traveling partners before and during your stay. Coverage includes, but is not limited to: trip cancellation or interruption due to illness, death, mandatory evacuation, inaccessibility and if the house is uninhabitable due to a hurricane. Though we at Pawleys Island Realty recommend this insurance coverage especially during Hurricane season, this coverage is optional and requires you to Opt In. You can Opt In on your Guest Portal or by contacting out office.

Are there lifeguards on the beach?
No, there are no lifeguards on Pawleys Island. Please swim at your own risk. Please be aware of Rip Tides and Tide times.
When is check in/check out time?
Check-in time is at 3:00pm and check-out time is 10:00am. We are unable to guarantee an early check-in; however, you are welcome to contact our office the day of your arrival and we will retain your name and contact number to call you if the property is available prior to 3:00 pm. If you do not receive a call please return at 3:00pm to pick up your keys.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, South Carolina State Law mandates each person must have a fishing license. The only exception is when fishing off Pawleys Pier, which is only available to guests staying at Pawleys Pier Village. You can obtain a license at either Pawleys Island Supplies and Ace Hardware.
Can I walk on to the Pawleys Pier?
Pawleys Pier Village is a private entity and not open to the public. Only guests of the Pawleys Pier VIllage condo units are allowed access onto the pier.
How can I contact you if there is an emergency after hours?
We have an emergency phone that a member of the staff manages after-hours. The number is (843)455-1878.
Are linens included with my rental?
All Pawleys Pier Village condos include linens. There are only a few rental homes that provide linens, and those will be noted on the property information. The Vacation Homes do not include linens or towels. We do have two options for linens and towels. We have the "Island Club" package where towels are delivered and beds will be made, linens put away, and a gift bag for you when you arrive. We also have a simple "Linen Drop-off" which includes the linens and towels for the house delivered in a bag at the home. Please ask us for more information and pricing.
How long is Pawleys Island?
Pawleys Island is a little over four miles and about a quarter of a mile wide.
Can I have a bonfire on the beach or set off fireworks on the beach?
Permits are required for all bonfires on the beach which can be obtained from Town Hall. Fireworks are not permitted on Pawleys Island.
What is the leash law?
Dogs are allowed on the beach at all times; however, they must be on the leash from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 8am-6pm. Please clean up after your pet.
Are toilet paper, dish soap, etc., supplied with my rental?
A roll of toilet paper and a bar of hand soap will be provided in each bathroom. If you run out, it is your responsibility to replace.
Can I send mail to your office?
If you are renting for 30 days or less, your mail can be sent to 88 Linwood Altman Causeway, Pawleys Island SC 29585. For all guests staying 31 days or longer, due to privacy restrictions, you will need to obtain a PO Box for any forwarded mail. Our office is no longer able to accept mail for Monthly or Long Term renters.
We will hold packages at our office. Please be sure the sender includes your name and rental unit on the package. Due to limited space in our office, please have the mail or package delivered close to your arrival date.
What about cancellations?
In the event that you need to cancel your reservation the following cancellation policies apply:
- Cancelling an advanced reservation: the $50 deposit charge will not be refunded
- Cancelling a reservation that has received the payment and the property re-rents: A full refund minus a cancellation fee and trip insurance cost (if applicable) will be refunded
- Cancelling a reservation that has received payment and the property does not re-rent: No refund will be issued
- If you purchase the Travel Protection Insurance (Trip Insurance through Red Sky) and the cancellation is due to a covered reason, such as: medical, death, hospitalization, or mandatory evacuation, and is not a pre-existing condition, you can file a claim directly with the Red Sky Insurance Company for a refund.
Can I reserve my house for the following year?
Yes, a $50 deposit can reserve your house for a week in the following year. By making a reservation before you check out, you can be first in line to reserve the unit you occupy this summer for the same week next year. If you do not reserve the same unit by the time you vacate the house, then the unit will be open to first come first serve basis.
When is the final payment due?
On all advanced reservations, the final payment will be due 30 days prior to your arrival date. In the event that you contact our office to reserve a house and it is six or fewer weeks to your arrival date, the payment in full is required when the reservation is booked.
What happens if we check in after your office has closed?
For all vacationers that are unable to arrive prior to our office closing, we will tape your Check-in Packet to the outside of our main front door which will contain your keys, a map and any information that you may need.
What grocery stores are in the area?
We have a Publix, Food Lion, Lowes and Fresh Market all within a few miles of each other.
