Pawleys Island House of Worship
(known as The Chapel to residents and vacationers at Pawleys Island) The historic Chapel stands on marshland. It was dismantled and rebuilt on the island lot in 1946. The Chapel survived two major hurricanes – Hazel and Hugo, but contributions from hundreds of people and the Pawleys Island Rotary financed its restoration. The Chapel is available for weddings, christenings,memorials, etc from September through May. All ceremonies must be conducted by an ordained minister. Reservation Fee is 275.00.
Winyah Indigo Society Hall
The Winyah Indigo Society Hall is available for lease as a wedding reception hall, banquet hall or social event. Located in beautiful downtow Georgetown. Nestled among the live oaks in the Historic District. Chartered by King George II in 1758, the coastal society grew from the old Convivial Club, organized in 1740, as a result of the prosperous growth of the indigo plant. The present building was build in 1853 to serve the society and has been used as a school, meeting place, library, and as a hospital for Federal troops during the Civil War. Pelican Inn
While the Pelican Inn, an iconic property on Pawleys Island is being run as an inn from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. It is available as a whole house rental in the off season and is one of the only properties on Pawleys that you may host a retreat, wedding or reception. This mid-Island property offers private ocean access on a secluded stretch on Pawleys Island beautiful beach front. The rustic Inn has been a quiet retreat for families over the years. It offers a grand creek dock, big, wide porches, and plenty of room to rumble around. This Inn was built in the 1840s and history fills the house. For more information turn to page 21.
