 Environment :Our environment is our most precious asset. Please help us preserve it. Sand dunes are our primary defense from erosion. Sea oats, other grasses and vegetation that grow on the dunes are very fragile. Please stay off the dunes when walking and playing. Use only the walkways that are marked.
Each year, May through September, the endangered Loggerhead sea turtles returns to DeBordieu's beaches to nest. The Loggerheads hatch at night and make their way from the dunes to the ocean. Any artificial light may disorient the hatchlings, causing them to go astray. The use of deck, porch or other outdoor lights that shine on the beach are prohibited between May and September.

Debordieu Club: The opportunity to enjoy the private DeBordieu Club makes a DeBordieu vacation unique. DeBordieu rental guests are entitled to temporarily assume the Club membership held by the owner of the home in which they are staying (Membership information is noted in each home's description). Club use privileges vary according to the level of membership. There are four levels:

Beach Social Memberships include the use of the pools at the Beach Club and Youth Center and dining at the Beach Club and Golf Clubhouse.

Tennis Memberships include all of the privileges of the Beach Social membership as well as use of the Tennis Club. Fees applicable.

Golf and Sports Memberships offer the privileges of Beach Social and Tennis as well as use of the golf course. Fees applicable.

As a private country club, DeBordieu Club is cash-free All charges must be made to a temporary membership account. Your account will be set up and membership cards will be issued at check-in. Charges will be billed to your home address and may be paid at that time by personal check or credit card.

DeBordieu Tennis Club, featuring a new Clubhouse, offers 8 clay and 2 hard courts, 6 which are lighted for night play and a full service pro shop with 48 hour stringing service. The Tennis Club USPTA certified professional and staff offer a variety of clinics, lessons and programs year round for all levels and abilities. Court fees are $15/hour singles, $25/hour doubles and $7.50 for our additional 2 weekly round robins. Suitable tennis shoes are required; no running/cross training shoes. Please call the Pro Shop at 546-9408 for your court reservation in advance.

DeBordieu Golf Course, a Pete and P.B. Dye, has drawn great reviews from the moment it was opened in 1987. Newly refurbished, DeBordieu is playable for golfers of all skill levels. As a private club, starting times are easy to come by and playing conditions are top notch. Guests can play a round of golf with cart and range balls for just $98. Spikeless golf shoes are required. Closed on Mondays. Please call (843) 527-6000 to reserve your tee time.

DeBordieu's Swimming Poolsare located at the Beach Club and Rec Center . During the summer the pools are open from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Dining at DeBordieu The oceanfront Beach Club and Cocktail Lounge are open for dinner Thursday through Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. during the summer season and Friday through Sunday off-season. Reservations are required and smart casual attire is appropriate. To make a reservation, please call (843) 546-2410.

The Gazebo Beach Bar is open for cocktails Tuesday through Sunday during the summer from noon until 11:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Vehicles

Motorcycles, moped motorized bikes, go carts and similar motorized vehicles are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony. Campers, trailers, or any other live-in moving vehicle are also prohibited. Motor vehicles are not allowed on beach.

Golf Carts: Guests may bring golf carts, but must provide registration and proof of insurance. Operators must have a valid drivers license and obey all S.C. traffic laws and regulations. Operation is limited to daylight hours.

Pets: Sorry,  Guest are not allowed to bring pets.

Grilling: Grill only in open grassy or paved areas away from any building or as provided for under any specific villa or home regulations. For your safety, grilling is not permitted on decks, porches, balconies, pool areas, or on the beach

 Restrictions: Fireworks are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony. Discharge of firearms of any kind is prohibited. Public walkways are clearly marked. Do not walk through private property.
