Pawleys Island is a small, non-commercial resort island, four miles long and a quarter of a mile wide, situated on the coast of South Carolina, twelve miles north of historic Georgetown and 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach. For "bright lights, etc., Myrtle Beach is approximately 20 miles to the north. There is an abundance of good restaurants in the immediate area, and the local stores offer a complete variety of food, drugstore, hardware, sporting goods and clothing.
